How a coincidence invented Iced Tea

Did you know that iced tea was invented by coincidence? The refreshing drink was first served in 1904 at the World's Fair in the USA when, during unusually warm temperatures, British tea merchant Richard Blechynden added ice to his hot tea – a clever idea given the heat!

This spontaneous idea became a surprising hit, turning iced tea into a popular summer drink to this day.
