The floral character of First Flush Darjeelings is best revealed when prepared carefully with water that is not boiling hot, as the lower temperatures bring out the delicate aromas.

The processing of the tea

During the first harvest of the year (first flush), the tender leaves and buds of the tea plant are carefully plucked. The gentle processing preserves the flavorful intensity of floral notes that characterize the spring harvest after a long winter rest in Darjeeling's tea gardens.
