Mallow Tea

Mallow Tea is traditionally prepared from the blossoms and leaves of the Common Mallow (Malva sylvestris). This plant, part of the mallow family (Malvaceae), is known for its gentle, pink to purple flowers. However, it is often confused with Hibiscus Tea, which has a much more tart flavour. While both belong to the same plant family, they are different species.

Description

The Common Mallow is a hardy plant widely distributed in temperate climates. Its flowers and leaves are dried to produce Mallow Tea, renowned for its mild, slightly sweet taste. Unlike Hibiscus tea, Mallow Tea has a more subtle tartness. It is naturally caffeine-free, making it ideal for any time of day. Often enjoyed plain or with a touch of honey or lemon, its versatility makes it an excellent choice for hot summer days and relaxing evenings.
