Winter Glow – Berry Spark Recipe
Perfect for those who don't want to miss out on fizzy drinks even in the chilly season, this recipe combines the fruity flavours of elderberry and hibiscus with the sparkling lightness of soda water. Enhanced with a touch of lemon juice and a gentle sweetness, it creates a delicious beverage reminiscent of a fruity soda – but completely alcohol-free. Ideal for cosy winter evenings with friends, or simply to treat yourself to a refreshing break. Ready to experience the fruity winter magic yourself?
Ingredients (for 1 glass, approx. 200 ml)
- 4 g (≈ 2 tsp) fruit and spice tea blend with elderberry & hibiscus
- 100 ml water (100 °C / 212 °F)
- 100 ml sparkling water
- 5 g lemon juice
- 5–10 g sugar or agave syrup
- 4 large or 6 small ice cubes (≈ 50 g)
Preparation
- Brew 4 g of the tea blend with 100 ml of boiling water (100 °C / 212 °F) and let steep for at least 10 minutes.
- Allow the tea to cool completely. (Yields about 2 servings.)
- Fill a glass with ice cubes.
- Add 100 ml sparkling water, 5 g lemon juice, and 5–10 g syrup to the glass, then stir well.
- Gently pour in about 50 ml of the cooled tea infusion.
- Stir lightly and enjoy chilled.
Tip: This drink has the feel of a sparkling fruit soda, but with a tea base – a perfect non-alcoholic alternative for cozy winter evenings.
